Tiny Blossoms

Over the summer, hundreds of flowers blossomed all over The Hague in a wonderful variety of colours and sizes. The Netherlands is hugely famous for its tulips, but has so many other varieties growing in the most unexpected places. Seeing flowers everywhere in this city is always a welcome sight after the sandscapes of Bahrain, where you could never really notice the difference between seasons – except by temperature!

Here are a few pictures taken this sunny summer, showing tiny delights that were spotted in parks and gardens. Even though winter just started, I’m already longing for spring to turn up after looking back at these beautiful photos!

Pictures taken by Harry Ritte, AKA the best photographer I know and my favourite walking companion.
